Your account and shops

ChatGPT sign-in supplies an account identifier and profile information for your session. Dashboard records are scoped to that account. Etsy Studio stores your shop labels and IDs, encrypted Etsy app credentials and OAuth tokens, and encrypted OpenAI, Gemini and/or DeepSeek API keys if you enable AI. Encryption is applied to credentials before database storage.

Listing, inventory, order and review data is requested from Etsy when you use the dashboard. Order details can include buyer names and delivery addresses. Your dashboard data is not displayed on the public landing page.

Drafts and history

Saved drafts and activity records are stored in the application database. These can contain listing text, imported source snapshots, photo links, AI output, brand instructions, before-and-after values and tracking information. They are retained until you delete the draft, remove the shop connection or delete your dashboard data. These records are not separately encrypted by the application.

When you use AI

Generating a draft sends the selected listing facts, task, instructions and any text you enter to your selected provider (OpenAI, Google Gemini or DeepSeek) using your configured API key. Alt-text generation also sends the selected product photos. Imported photos are downloaded from Etsy and uploaded to the destination listing when you confirm the import. Order addresses and buyer email addresses are not automatically included in AI reply prompts. Avoid entering unnecessary personal information.

OpenAI requests set response storage to false. Each provider’s service, retention and data-use policies still apply; Gemini policies can differ between paid and unpaid API use. Generated drafts and before/after review jobs are saved in your dashboard. With fallback enabled, the request may be retried with other configured providers. Validated non-chat responses are cached within your account for reuse for up to 24 hours; expired cache records are cleaned up during later AI requests. Usage records store provider, model, token counts, estimated cost, timing and status, without full prompts or secrets. Delete dashboard data removes these records too. API charges are billed to the account associated with your key.

Your controls

Delete individual drafts from Saved drafts. Delete a shop in Settings to remove its connection, credentials, drafts and activity records. Disconnect a provider in AI Settings to remove that provider’s saved key. Delete my data removes all your dashboard records and credentials. These actions do not delete your Etsy shop or ChatGPT account.

Removing a local connection does not revoke the authorization at Etsy; revoke access in your Etsy account as well if needed. You can revoke API keys in your provider account. Hosting providers may retain operational logs or backups under their own policies; the dashboard deletion action removes records from the active application database.

Chrome extension

The extension uses activeTab access after you click its icon to detect the current Etsy listing URL and show the tab title in its popup. When you choose Clone this listing, it opens Etsy Studio with numeric listing IDs, or a shop name and optional section ID. The title and URL tracking parameters are not transmitted. It does not collect browsing history, scrape the page, access cookies or API keys, or run background tracking. The extension stores no listing history. Imported product snapshots, saved edits and photo-transfer progress are kept in your account’s draft library. Website and AI processing then follow the handling described above.

Support and privacy mode

Public help-guide answers run in your browser. When you enable AI answers, your question and recent conversation are sent to your configured AI provider together with the product guides. Support chat can inspect account counts and a selected shop’s listings only when you enable read-only account tools. Tool access is checked against your account and excludes credentials and order details. Relevant tool results are sent to your AI provider. It cannot change or publish listings. Conversation text is held in page memory and can be cleared; AI request counts are recorded for rate limiting. Provider and hosting policies may apply to processing and operational logs.

The dashboard stores your shop-name visibility preference locally in this browser. Hiding names masks shop labels in navigation and overview, but does not hide listing text, buyer data or all content in shop forms. Telegram support is an external service; messages you send there are handled by Telegram and the support recipient. Contact @chaoticduck for privacy questions.
